Supervision

During 2009 ohio revised Code rule 4759-5-01 - Supervision and the Standards of Practice Rules 4759-6-01, 4759-6-02, and 4759-6-03 were revised as related to standards of practice and the supervision of dietetic technicians, and nutrition assistants who may work under exemption from licensure in Ohio if supervised by a dietitian.

Assessing the competency of dietetic technicians and nutrition assistants is an integral component of determining the proper assignment of tasks within the nutrition care process, and in monitoring the practice of the exempt practitioner.

Dietitians licensed in Ohio should familiarize themselves with the new rules.

The Board will continue to post additional resources to the website to assist the licensed dietitian in this area of practice. Please check this area frequently.
